3月15日に大阪府堺市にある和泉国一之宮大鳥大社で開催されるNPO法人徳島県古武道協会主催大鳥大社古武道大会を開催しました。
徳島に安土桃山時代に伝えられ現在でも久武館道場で守り続けられている阿州柳生神影流兵法剣術、棒術、短刀術をはじめ伝承舞などが披露されました。
インバウンドの影響で、神社参拝者や観光客だけでなく外国人も多く訪れていただき素晴らしい大会になりました。
協会として大阪での古武道大会開催は9回目でしたが、非常に好評で規模が少しずつ大きくなっています。
また堺市は和歌山から南海線が走っている関係で徳島県関係者が多く住んでいる地域で故郷の文化が体験できて良かったと多くのありがたい言葉を頂きました。
また若隆景や若元春のいる荒汐部屋が大鳥大社で寄宿されている関係で賑やかな大会になりました。
最後に会場を快く提供していただきました大鳥大社の水無瀬宮司様、総代会長の辻尾様はじめ総代の皆様方、神社関係者の皆様にはこの場を借りてお礼申し上げます。
On March 15, the NPO Tokushima Prefecture Kobudo Association hosted the Otori Taisha Kobudo Tournament at Izumi-no-Kuni Ichinomiya Otori Taisha in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture.
The event featured demonstrations of A-shu Yagyu Shinkage-ryu martial arts—including swordsmanship, staff techniques, and short sword techniques—which were introduced to Tokushima during the Azuchi-Momoyama period and are still preserved today at the Kyubukan Dojo, as well as traditional dances.
Thanks to the influx of international visitors, the event was a great success, attracting not only shrine worshippers and tourists but also many foreign visitors.
This marked the ninth time the Association has held a Kobudo tournament in Osaka, and it has been very well-received, with the event gradually growing in scale.
Additionally, since the Nankai Line runs from Wakayama to Sakai City, many people with ties to Tokushima Prefecture live in the area, and we received many kind words expressing how much they appreciated being able to experience the culture of their hometown.
Furthermore, the tournament was particularly lively because the Arashio stable—home to young talents such as Takakage and Motoharu—is currently staying at Otori Grand Shrine.
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to Chief Priest Minase of Otori Grand Shrine, who kindly provided the venue, as well as to Mr. Tsujio, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, all members of the Board of Trustees, and all the shrine staff.
