7月12日に徳島県民のシンボルである剣山山頂にある剣山本宮宝蔵石神社でNPO法人徳島県古武道協会主催剣山山頂古武道演武大会を開催しました。
徳島に安土桃山時代に伝えられ、現在でも久武館道場で守り続けられている阿州柳生神影流兵法剣術が演武されました。
剣山は古来より武道信仰の霊山として崇められ銘菓ぶどう饅頭もこのことが由来で出来ました。
しかし最近は山岳信仰の薄れや氏子の高齢化でと登山される方も少なくなっていますが、最近の登山ブームで多くの方が訪れていました。
天候は霊山を感じさせる厳しい環境でしたが素晴らしい一日になりました。
このような機会を提供していただきました剣山本宮宝蔵神社松村宮司様をはじめ総監の橘本様、関係者の皆様にはこの場を借りてお礼申し上げます。
徳島県古武道協会は、徳島に伝承された古武道の保存振興だけではなく、各神社での演武大会の開催や他流派との交流も目的とされています。

On July 12, the NPO Tokushima Prefecture Kobudo Association hosted the Mount Tsurugi Summit Kobudo Demonstration Tournament at the Tsurugi-san Hongu Hozuki-ishi Shrine, located at the summit of Mount Tsurugi—a symbol of the people of Tokushima Prefecture.
Demonstrations were held of the A-shu Yagyu Shinkage-ryu swordsmanship, which was introduced to Tokushima during the Azuchi-Momoyama period and is still preserved today at the Kyubukan Dojo.
Mount Tsurugi has been revered since ancient times as a sacred mountain of martial arts faith, and the famous local confection, the “Grape Manju,” was created as a result of this tradition.
However, due to the recent decline in mountain worship and the aging of the local parishioners, the number of climbers has been decreasing; nevertheless, thanks to the recent hiking boom, many people were visiting the mountain.
Although the weather presented a harsh environment befitting a sacred mountain, it turned out to be a wonderful day.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Chief Priest Matsumura of Kenzan Hongu Hozō Shrine, who provided this opportunity, as well as to General Supervisor Tachibana and all those involved.
The Tokushima Prefecture Kobudo Association aims not only to preserve and promote the traditional martial arts passed down in Tokushima but also to host demonstration tournaments at various shrines and foster exchanges with other schools.
